About Me: Liz Huff, Chef/Owner
I attended both the Culinary and BA programs at New England Culinary Institute in Montpelier, Vermont. After school, I moved to Boston where I became Food Services Manager at Harvard Law School. I then moved on to be a butcher in Newton Centre, MA, which so happened to a shop that Julia Child sometimes used. When she came to pick up her order, we'd all stand in behind the plate glass window and wait for her to roll the car window down and wave at us. That wave would make my week! After the butcher shop, I went on to manage a Spanish Tapas Restaurant near Harvard Square.
Being a small town girl at heart, I finally moved home to Missouri. Since returning, I have owned 2 restaurants, started a natural salad dressing and marinade company, have catered many events, and taught numerous cooking classes in Marshall, Sedalia and Columbia, Mo. I also took a little break from Missouri and moved to St Croix, USVI, where I was the Chef at a nice little restaurant on the beach.
I am very interested in all things creative and have recently started designing and creating stained glass pieces, repurposing tired furniture and honing my photography skills. I have also been drawing quite a bit, and you can check out some of my art on facebook:
